Founded in 1920 Le Roy Rene specialise in Le Calisson D'Aix, a centuries old confectionery made from finely ground sweet almonds, candied Provencal melon and orange peel laid on a thin wafer and topped with royal icing. Calissons are one of 13 desserts served at Christmas in Provence.

Le Roy Rene is a Living Heritage Company (EPV). This an award from the French State in recognition of a company's craftsmanship and know-how.
